2023 COLLECTION WEEK
NOVEMBER 13 – 20, 2023 Operation Christmas Child provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project that reaches out to suffering children while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas- Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift. This program sends a message of hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and Christian literature. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected over 209 million shoeboxes worldwide and distributed them to children in about 95 countries.
In addition to the shoebox gifts, which may be the only Christmas gift a child has ever received, Operation Christmas Child provides a discipleship program for each child, explaining the message of salvation and hope in Christ Jesus. Over 2 million children have given their lives to Christ through the ministry of the shoeboxes and the discipleship program.
The South Central Wisconsin Operation Christmas Child Collection Center is located in Plover WI and has relay centers in Adams, Marshfield, Nekoosa, Waupaca, Wautoma/Waushara, Wisconsin Rapids, and Withee. All together, we collected 10,515 shoebox gifts from people in South Central Wisconsin in 2023. Since 2005, we have collected over 161,905 shoeboxes from this area.
Our goal is to collect over 13,000 shoebox gifts this year to send to children around the world. That is about one shoebox gift for every fifteen people that live in the area.
Operation Christmas Child has local representatives around the country to assist you or your group. These representatives can help you get involved with Operation Christmas Child in your area, and they are available to speak at group or church meetings or give media interviews.
